NIOA was front and centre as major sponsor at the defence industry’s annual night of nights in Canberra.
More than 250 guests representing defence SMEs, primes, government and the Australian Defence Force top brass converged on the Hyatt Hotel’s Federation Ballroom for the AIDN National Gala Dinner.
The 16-strong NIOA contingent was unmistakable with members of the leadership team, advisory board and Canberra office rubbing shoulders with VIPs including former Army Major General Senator Jim Molan, AO, DSC, Chief of Defence General Angus Campbell, AO, DSC, Defence Secretary Greg Moriarty and former treasurer Joe Hockey, while Defence Industry Minister Melissa Price delivered a video message.
In delivering the welcome address, CEO Rob Nioa underlined the importance of ‘’true sovereign capability’’.
“There is no greater representation of sovereign capability than what sits in this room and is represented by the AIDN network,” he told guests.
‘’We commend AIDN for celebrating, advocating and showcasing the defence industry and we were honoured to be part of a fantastic event.”
